Independent System Operator

Placer Electric
Incorporated provided design assist service and completed the electrical
installation of the data center for Independent System Operator (ISO),
California's Electrical Transmission Control Center. From a 10,000 square-foot
control room, operators will monitor computer screens and a giant electronic
map showing how power is flowing around the state. ISO will control 70 to 80
percent of the state's long distance electricity transmission, setting rules
and prices for using high-voltage lines still owned by private utilities. |
